Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation
“GenLove Precious Moments” Drawing Competition 2026
The Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation is dedicated to fostering harmonious and healthy relationships within family and society. To strengthen intergenerational bonds between grandparents, parents, and grandchildren by promoting mutual respect and appreciation across generations, the Foundation also advocates designating the second Sunday of October as “Grandparents’ Day” each year.
The Foundation is delighted to host the “Grandparents’ Day 2026” once again. To enhance communication and mutual understanding between grandparents and grandchildren, and promote the culture of “Appreciation Starts at Home”, the Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation cordially invites all primary and secondary school students in Hong Kong to participate in the “GenLove Precious Moments” Drawing Competition 2026. Participants will collaborate with their grandparents to create original artworks that celebrate family love. Winners will receive attractive prizes, and selected outstanding artworks will be showcased at the “Grandparents’ Day 2026 Funfair” on 11 October.
Format
The competition is divided into two categories: Primary School (Hand-drawing) and Secondary School (AI-generated pieces), with requirements as follows:
-
Primary School: Participants are required to complete the artwork by hand-drawing. Entries may be presented in any artistic medium, including pastel, sketch, watercolour, ink painting, oil painting, coloured pencil, pen drawing, etc.
-
Secondary School: Participants are required to submit artworks that are generated using AI.
The Foundation encourages participants to put the "Think, Talk, Create" process into practice. Grandchildren are encouraged to first communicate with their grandparents to understand their wishes before beginning their creative work.
-
Think & Talk: Participants are required to engage in heartfelt conversations with their grandparents to learn about their wishes on one of two themes: (1) the activities grandparents most wish to do with their grandchildren or (2) the memory grandparents most cherish with their grandchildren.
-
Create: Based on this exchange, they have to provide a short description of no more than 200 words and create either a hand drawing (for Primary School) or an AI generated piece (for Secondary School) as their entry.。
-
To enhance communication and mutual understanding between grandparents and grandchildren through collaboration, the description may be written by the grandparents themselves or by the grandchildren on their behalf.
